Random Thoughts in the News
Yesterday CNN reported on 10 Secret Menu Items at Fast Food Restaurants. I guess the secret is out, but it’s not good news. These unhealthy finds are nothing to get excited about. Interesting to read, but I would suggest renaming it “10 Secret Menu Items to Avoid at Fast Food Restaurants”.

Looking for something interesting to do this fall? Why not try a food festival. I think the Taste of Atlanta and the Wine and Mushroom Festival in Mendocino County, California sound very interesting!

Did you know that less then 10% of American high school students are getting their recommended intake of fruits and veggies? Yikes! Maybe this helps to explain why I saw a girl eating a bag of Funyuns at her bus stop the other morning. This was a sad day for me my friends. Very sad indeed.

Australia is taking after the U.S. Recent data shows a quarter of Australia’s children between the ages of 5 and 17 are overweight or obese. Just like our children here at home, Australian children appear to be watching too much television, playing too many video games and not getting enough physical activity. This is one area we don’t want to “set an example in”…at least until we can get more than 10% of our children eating more fruits and vegetables.
