Pistachio Recall Expands
The pistachio recall has expanded to include the following companies and products:

  1. The Kar Nut Company announced a recall yesterday of Kar’s and Second Nature products containing pistachio nuts that were supplied by Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella, Inc. after September 1, 2008 due to possible contamination with salmonella. For a complete list of recalled products click here.
  2. Whole Foods also announced a voluntary recall of its 365 Everyday Value brand in-shell Dry Roasted and Salted Pistachios yesterday. According to the announcement the recalled products include “16 oz. packages of 365 Everyday Value brand Dry Roasted and Salted Pistachios with Best Before dates of 07/08/2009 GL1, 07/08/2009 GL2, and 11/27/2009 GL1 and a Universal Product Code (UPC) of 99482-40435.”
  3. In addition, Kroger has expanded its recall to include additional ‘Sell By’ dates for its “Private Selection® Shelled Pistachios sold in its family of stores” because they came from Setton Farms. The stores included in the recall include Kroger, Ralphs, Fred Meyer, Fry's, King Soopers, Smith's, Dillons, QFC, City Market, Foods Co., Jay C, Scott's, Owen's, Baker's, Gerbes, Hilander and Pay Less.
