OMG! Now I really think I’ve heard everything! Coming to a mall near you…quick lipo!
Just think, you’re in the mall trying on clothes….and you find you’ve got just a little too much junk in the trunk to pull the outfit off. Not to worry! Just run down the hall to your local ‘quick lipo’ chain and have that extra fat sucked out! You’ll be runway ready in no time! OK, perhaps I’m oversimplifying the process. This quick version is reportedly safer and has a shorter recovery period. It is, after all, a surgical procedure (and for some, medically warranted).
However, when I first heard about the locations for these clinics, I almost fell out of my chair. Just one more thing to imply to people (women in particular) that their bodies are somehow ‘inadequate’ as they walk past the store windows filled with size 0 mannequins. Am I the only one who finds this a little bit ‘obscene’?
Kudos, I suppose, to the marketers involved…brilliant idea to ‘bring the mountain to Mohammad’ so to speak. They’ve taken a procedure thought to be the property of the rich and famous and brought it to the masses. And they’ve found a way to hit them when and where they’re most vulnerable.
Or is it the consumers themselves who are to blame? Are people too eager to jump on the quick fix bandwagon, rather than putting any effort into what’s healthy and good for their bodies? Are these clinics just giving the people what they want? Perhaps this is just a sign of the times.
I, personally, am offended. What about you?

This is just sad. I blame people for this kind of nonsense. They're way too interested in the quick fix. Combine that with unrealistic expectations and you end up with nonsense like this.
