Staying Motivated

Getting motivated can be easy, but staying motivated to stick with your weight loss program can be hard, especially if you have a lot of weight to lose. Below I’ve listed some important reasons to stay in the weight loss game.
  1. Your knees will thank you! Carrying around extra weight takes a toll on your body, especially your knees. Losing weight can help decrease your risk for developing osteoarthritis in weight-bearing joints.
  2. Lower your risk! Dropping pounds, even 10% of your current body weight, can decrease your risk for developing chronic diseases like diabetes and cancer.
  3. It’s about the look and the feel! Losing weight can increase your self-esteem and decrease depression.
  4. Get your Zzz’s. Weight loss has been shown to improve or even alleviate symptoms of sleep apnea.
  5. You’ll make your heart happy. Lose weight to decrease your cholesterol, decrease your blood pressure and decrease your risk of heart disease.
What keeps you motivated? We would love to know!
