We all know that watching what you eat is important during the holidays, but you may not think about watching what you drink. But being mindful of your beverages can be just as important to your waist line!
We hear quite a bit about avoiding calories from alcoholic drinks during the holidays. While they can certainly add up quickly (and one can lead to another, and another, and… well, you get what I mean), the non-alcoholic drinks can be a much greater calorie problem, especially since many people drink these every day.
Have you given any thought to the calories in YOUR holiday coffee or other beverages? Check out the table below, but make sure you’re sitting down first; the numbers will blow you away!

Shocked? We were! If you’re going to drink sweetened and high calorie beverages, here are a few tips to minimize the damage to your diet:
- Always order the smallest size, this can cut the calories in half or more.
- Be sure to factor these calories into your day by cutting down elsewhere.
- Avoid drinking these every day. Instead add a sugar free flavoring with a holiday flair, like peppermint or butterscotch, to your coffee.
- Above all, remember it’s not about the food; it’s about spending time with family, friends and those you love.
We wish you all a safe, happy and healthy holiday!
