Sweet and Sneaky
Once upon a time, a sweet and sneaky Obesity found a very nice community like yours. He moved in, and lived contentedly among the people there. He preyed on their children’s well-being, and future happiness, fooling the hard working parents. He wore such a clever, familiar looking disguise that he didn’t even have to try very hard. He was usually an invited guest, welcomed by parents, introduced to their children.

When they met him at their neighbors, even people who might at first have been suspicious were won over by his sweet disposition, sugary talk, and inviting appearance. Those who resisted Obesity’s charms were left alone to eat their healthy food.

Meanwhile, sneaky Obesity flourished in homes where he was not supervised, and where busy parents ignored the growing evidence of his hold over their children. The sneak grew bolder and bolder, altering the appearance of his victims, thwarting their desire to enjoy the usual activities of childhood, leaving them susceptible to illness, disease, and ridicule and longing for the comfort only he could provide.

Obesity created a generation of children who could not imagine living without him. Then Obesity felt his work there was done, and moved on to another nice community. Fresh fruit returned to each home where a child was at risk; healthy snacks reappeared, and eventually Obesity was just a memory. The children played outside again, ate fruit and lived happily ever after.

Somewhere on the edge of a nice town like yours, a sweet and sneaky Obesity is looking for a home with an unsuspecting family. Healthy, balanced meals, including vegetables, and fruit every day will scare him away. Try to eat dinner together as a family, and get some exercise…that really makes Obesity run. Let your Sensei be your guide.

The End.
