Live Longer and Save Money!
One of the many anti-aging theories is to eat approximately 20-30% less calories than you usually do. The intent is not specifically weight loss, but mainly to limit the amount of work the body performs to digest, utilize and store the food, and to reduce the amount of free radicals produced in the process.

This 60 year old theory has recently resurfaced in popular books looking at the Japanese living in Okinawa, where there are four times more centenarians than the rest of Japan. It appears that people here eat three times more vegetables, twice as much fish and 30% less calories than the other Japanese.

An easy way to adapt to a similar life style and save money is to just eat what your body needs, just like if food was medicine. Not more, not less, just the amount you need to feel good and do your body good. Following the Mediterranean Plan is pretty close to this lifestyle and it’s worth a try. Eat for quality not quantity; meaning lots of colorful fruits and vegetables, fatty fish, nuts, whole grains and very little meat. Walk often and only eat until you are 80% full. Your body and health will reap the benefits.
