| Stop the Insanity! |
What is wrong with this picture???
In the same week where it was front page news that Americans are getting bigger than ever, Alabama wants to charge obese employees and the fittest and most disciplined people in the world are competing at the Olympics for your viewing pleasure, they come up with this… Marble Slab Creamery Unveils New “Type Two Diabetes Cone”.
The Type Two Diabetes Cone contains “two scoops of cotton candy ice cream, marshmallows, sprinkles, high fructose corn syrup, chocolate chips, sugar, coffee beans, whip cream, red dye number 40, gummy bears, and a cherry on top”. Marble Slab Creamery says it’s “giving American’s what they want”. CEO Bernard Fonda says Americans want things fast and believes that “American’s are tired of waiting for Type 2 Diabetes”. Why not just shoot people and take them out of their misery instead?
The same thing goes for the makers of the Baconator, the Six Dollar Burger, the Chicago Classic Deep Dish Pizza or the Aussie Cheese Fries with Ranch Dressing. Don’t these manufacturers have any conscience? Yes people have the right to choose, but come on, this is obscene!
I remember going to see the documentary “SuperSize Me” with my dietitian friend Jennifer. We were so astonished that we went to have dinner at a vegan restaurant afterwards, and we are not even vegan, nor vegetarian.
In my opinion, “Super size me” and “Burger Nation” viewing should be mandatory every year at every school level. It should also be playing on an endless loop in every doctor’s office and emergency room in the world.
Wake up America! Don’t succumb to somebody else’s American dream. They are getting richer as you are getter sicker. Take charge and control of your health, it’s never too late.
Please, I beg you.
