We’ve all heard about the power of positive thinking, but what about taking it a step further? It may sound a little “out there” but visualization (the process of creating pictures in your mind) has been proven time and time again to be a valuable tool in getting the results you want.
It’s easy, start by building an image in your mind of exactly the way you want to look. Don’t just see yourself slim, feel how your new clothes fit and the way you move. Forget about the way you look now. Let go of the worries and doubts. Get excited! Construct images that stir up your emotions. Really think about how it FEELS at your ideal weight (feels good doesn’t it?). Make the scene as real as possible and imagine that it is happening right NOW, not at some time in the future. - Hear all the compliments from your friends and family on how wonderful you look.
- See yourself wearing a bathing suit at the pool or beach.
- Imagine wearing those "skinny jeans" that you haven't been able to fit into for years.
Now sit in a quiet place, close your eyes, and visualize…hey, that rhymes! Commit to doing this at least once every single day. And oh yeah…don’t forget about the ‘eat right and exercise’ part! -Lauren
